Game Pickups Week 4 November 2016

Okay it has been a little while since I've done an update. Actually I wasn't finding very much.. and then all of a sudden I was finding games everywhere! Picked up some massive hauls.. Then I spent a heap of time putting the duplicates up for sale, listed nearly 100 things on eBay. Plus I've been spending heaps of time playing Pokemon Sun, so I haven't been keeping up with updates.. time to fix that!

The very large stack of DS and 3DS games on the left I picked up together, most of them for around the $10-$20 mark. I kept Bravely Second, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Yoshis Island DS and both Monster Hunter games and the rest went up for sale. The sales of those pays for the ones I kept... I also got some PS Vita games, Witcher 3 Collectors edition and some Wii games at really bargain prices too.

I had a bit of a win with thrift shops this week. I got Buzz Jungle Party for $3 - it has all the remotes, game, etc. From that store I went to another one that I don't usually go to, but there is a beautiful ramen shop nearby that I wanted to go to for lunch. I was glad I did because I picked up all those PS2 games you see there - for 75 cents each. Yes, including the Harvest Moon...My eyes lit up as soon as I saw it on the shelf. They had a few other games there too but someone had stolen the disks from the cases.. so glad they left harvest moon. I was on a bit of a roll so I tried a third shop and picked up Mario Kart Wii for $3. After that I went over to the nearby pawn shop - they didn't have very much but I got the XBox games for $3 each and Splatoon and Mario Party 10 for $10 each.

I don't know why but all of a sudden, i'm seeing copies of Mario Kart everywhere. I picked up a copy online for $20 because I see that it's price is skyrocketing for some reason! It's selling on eBay for $80! I also picked up Donkey Kong Country 3 for SNES, but I have a colleague who is after it so I'll probably give it to her. Grabbed some more Pokemon games too... it seems they are also becoming super common, i'm guessing because everyone played them during the Pokemon Go phase and is now selling them off.

Finally, I got myself a Sega Mega Drive! I've been wanting one for a bit, but their price just keeps going up and up.. I scored the two games for $7 each and they were selling a console for $100 so I offered $60 and they accepted. I think that's a pretty good deal.. I haven't been able to test it out yet because my TV in my console room has no remote to tune in the coaxial cable.. so i'll have to buy a converter for it.
